Hotel Description
Hotel Casa Tucan is tucked away in the peaceful jungle just a short walk to the white sands of Playa Guiones.
There are no hotels or homes built on the beach in this area, as it is a Costa Rican refuge; protected from construction, cars and the mass tourism found at many other areas on Costa Rica?s Pacific coast.
Casa Tucan offers a full service, poolside restaurant and bar, with vast breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus specializing in fresh fruit drinks, gourmet pizzas and fresh fish specials. It is an evening hotspot with occasional live music that maintains a quiet, low-key environment friendly to singles, couples and families. The staff is highly accommodating and can provide many items not listed on the regular menu for vegetarians or those with special dietary concerns.
Our rooms are recently renovated, all featuring: air conditioning, refrigerators, coffee makers and fresh local coffee, pool facing patios and pillow top mattresses. In addition our larger Sunset Suites are furnished with microwave ovens, queen sized futons in a sitting area, and dinettes.
Our smaller Jungle Bungalow units have an additional rear-facing patio that allows for privacy and a view of the jungle refuge. The rooms are warmly decorated, intended to provide our guests with an authentic comforts of home Costa Rican feel.
It is not uncommon for guests to hear Howler monkeys in the distance and the sharp eye will often catch them hanging out in the surrounding trees. Large iguanas, melodic birds, kutamundis and red tailed ?flying? squirrels are regulars at the Casa Tucan.
In keeping with the tranquil environment, there are no televisions or phonesin the rooms. The bar area maintains a television with direct TV and a phone for local calls. International calls can be made by purchasing a phone card.

Sunset Suite:
Our suites, units sleep 5 comfortably. They include a queen sized bed, a full size futon couch, and a twin bed. They all feature a/c, room safe, CD alarm clock, hot water, private bath, and partial kitchenettes including: refrigerator, microwave oven, coffee maker, dinette and utensils. Daily maid service is provided.
Jungle Bungalow:
Our standard rooms, these units provide two double beds, a/c, room safe, CD alarm clock, hot water, private bath, refrigerator, wet bar, rear jungle facing patios, a room safe and daily maid service.
